Interior design process stages from concept to handover
Our Process

From Empty Flat to Handover Keys
Our Complete 4-Step Interior Process

10 Apr 2026 6 min read Mumbai & Thane

If your interior designer can't explain exactly what happens in Week 1, Week 4, and Week 8 — be careful. A disorganized designer burns your money before they save it. This is our transparent, milestone-tracked process that we follow on every project, without exception.

Why a Process Matters (More Than You Think)

Interior design is 30% creativity and 70% project management. Most project delays in Mumbai aren't because of design — they're because nobody agreed on who does what, when. A clear process prevents that. It also means you, as a homeowner, always know what's happening and what's coming next.

Here's exactly how we take your home from an empty flat to keys-in-hand.

Step 01 — Design Consultation (Free)

Duration: 1 week

We start by understanding you — not just your flat. We ask questions like: How do you actually use your kitchen? Do you work from home? Do you have kids? Do you entertain guests often? What does "luxury" mean to you personally? The same 3 BHK can become five completely different homes depending on who lives there.

By the end of Step 1, you will have:

The consultation itself is completely free. No obligation, no pressure. Many clients use this step just to get clarity, even if they're evaluating multiple firms.

Step 02 — Procurement & Planning

Duration: 2-3 weeks

Once you approve the design and budget, we move into procurement. This is where most interior projects quietly fail — not because of bad design, but because materials didn't arrive on time.

We handle this step like a military operation:

Why this matters: If marble arrives late, tiling work stops. If tiling stops, painting can't happen. One delay becomes a chain. We prevent that chain by planning procurement before execution begins — not during.

Step 03 — Execution on Site

Duration: 45 to 90 days (depends on flat size)

This is where the work actually happens. For a typical Mumbai/Thane flat:

Execution happens in a strict sequence:

  1. Civil work and demolition (if required)
  2. MEP rough-in — wiring, plumbing, AC copper lines
  3. False ceiling, plaster, and wall preparation
  4. Tiling and flooring
  5. Painting (primer + 2 coats, premium finishes)
  6. Modular kitchen and wardrobe installation
  7. Electrical final fittings, lighting, switches
  8. Furniture and decor
  9. Final cleaning, snagging, QC

Throughout this phase you'll receive:

Step 04 — Handover & Support

Duration: 1 week

We don't just hand over keys and disappear. In the final week:

Our 3-month check-in: 90 days after handover, we revisit your home to check settling issues, hardware adjustments, or anything that needs touch-up. Most firms don't do this. We do.

What This Process Costs You vs. Saves You

A structured process looks like "overhead" when you're comparing quotes. But a disorganized project costs you:

A structured process pays for itself every single time. Your only job is showing up for the fun decisions — fabrics, finishes, final touches. The heavy lifting is ours.

Final Word

Interior design is one of the most personal, expensive, and stressful things you'll do in a decade. You deserve transparency, milestones, and someone accountable. Every process we follow is built on the same principle: you should know what's happening at every stage, before it happens.
